The Boatyard Inn has a history of well-known visitors. In the days it was known as The Union Tavern, people like Anne Zigler and Webster Booth were often seen there, also stars from Coronation Street.
More recently 60s singing star Ralph McTell called in. So impressed was he with our beer that he has promised to come back for more next time he is in town! He thought the display of pictures and cards in the Gents loo was so good that he asked if he could see the ones in the Ladies too!
